I just finished reading Ermita by F Sionil Jose... I just want to share this really moving excerpt from his book.

"For whom are these tears?"

"I cry because I have a beautiful country which has been ravaged by its own people. I cry because I know in the days to come there will be more violence, anarchy, sadness, and frustration among us, I cry because I see the opportunities wasted and lost and the many yet unborn who will have to suffer and pay the cost, I cry because here in Shinjuku I am lost."
