That, my friends, is the heart. (Well, inside the heart that is & that's my hand if you care to know - which I know you don't) A short lesson in anatomy - the two upper chambers are your left and right atrium and the two lower chambers (which are way bigger than the chambers above it) are your left and right ventricle.

Just think... as you look at this picture, your heart is pumping with all its might to keep the blood flowing thru your blood vessels (it's wrong to say veins because it contains unoxygenated blood which means it goes straight to the lungs to be re-oxygenated - maye its better to say arteries) to keep your tissues nourished and well-oxygenated - so that they can go on and do their own functions and that's what keeps you happy and well.

What if it stops beating?

Ever stop to think about that? That's a scary thought.

I was reading my transcriptions for my pathology class and at the end of each transcription, the one who transcribed it would write a short note...

This one said: "Live everyday as if it were your last because one day it will be."
